Paramus Rotary Club Meeting of Thursday, November 19, 2020 Our guest speaker on November 12, 2020, was Ms. Bolor-Erdene-Tumurchudur. Her presentation focused on how being a Rotary Foundation Alumna informed her career path as an aspiring sustainability professional and influenced her work as an endlessly enthusiastic youth and women’s empowerment activist. Bolor discussed how her involvement with Rotary’s Group Study Exchange had a profound “Butterfly Effect” on her life, helping reshape her career from working in the coal mining industry in her native Mongolia to a career path in the field of energy sustainability around the globe. She credits her involvement with Rotary as empowering, enlightening, and energizing both her personal and professional paths. Bolor continuously aspires to give back. In Mongolia, she started the first ever mentorship program, spearheading a strong mentorship culture heretofore unknown in her native land. This year, Bolor began working with Global Shapers New York Hub’s multi-phase empowerment project. Phase I features monthly speaker sessions moderated by Global Shapers and Young Professionals focusing on future trends/opportunities and mental wellness. Phase 1’s main goal is to help young professionals and entrepreneurs maintain their vision, motivation, and resiliency during these uncertain times. The target audience for Phase I are young professionals and entrepreneurs from Global Shapers NYC Hub, Rotaractors in New York City, and Rotary Club of New York members and their guests. Phase 1 presentations feature two speakers in 20-minute moderated sessions, followed by 10 minutes of Q&A. Sessions are also open to a global audience. Topics covered include Macro Economics Outlook; Hacking Peak Performance; The Art of Applying Transformational Design Thinking; Investing in Tech Innovations; and Understanding Your Brain’s Health.
