Hope to see you at this Thursday's Rotary Club Meeting when we are installing our newest member - Shein Elashry.
I'm sure she would enjoy seeing as many of you as possible at the ceremony...and I think we would like to make this event a special one for her.

On another note from Fred - last night I was at my first District Staff meeting in my new role as Paramus Rotary Club President. (I do recall attending one a few years ago as the club's secretary and giving a presentation on all the ways our club engages our community's youth - RYLA / Interact / React / Spelling Bee / Dictionary Project).
Lots of time spent last night focused on membership and the importance of membership engagement. While attendance at meetings will always be desired there was a clear message sent to all of us that clubs need to shift away from emphasis on perfect attendance to emphasis on perfect engagement. That message came "right from the top" - District Gov John Mitchell.
To that end I've once again attached our club's Committee Sign Up form. My quick look at the Committee Management link in ClubRunner suggests that there is still a good % of our members who have not yet signed up to participate in any of our committees.
The Committee Sign Up form this year has an added area that offers the ability to list any NEW suggestions for events or activities that are not on the list but are of interest to you. Please don't be shy.
Lastly - there is one area of immediate need. Because no one has signed up to be our club's representative at the React of West Brook Middle School, Len LoPinto will be covering both React at East Brook and West Brook. While we appreciate that it would really be best for all if the React Club at West Brook had a dedicated representative from our club.
Hope someone could step up and take on that duty. Please talk to Len or myself to find out more. It's only a few short visits a month to meet with the WB teacher(s) who are responsible for the React Club.
Tips to deal with the warm weather. It is not the actual temperature, but the heat index. To many people the added humidity is a bigger problem than the temperature. People cool themselves with sweat and evaporative cooling. With high humidity this ability keep yourself cool goes away. Plan on having a cool place of refuge from the heat and stay hydrated.
