Our speaker last Thursday was Jan H. Brown, Esq., head of The Law Offices of Jan H. Brown, P.C. Jan is a highly respected immigration attorney with decades of experience. He outlined key policy changes shaping today’s immigration landscape and explained their practical impact. It was an interesting and informative event.
Past District Governor Calisto Bertin inducted our newest member, Maria Palumbo, at Thursday’s meeting. Her Rotary pin was presented by her sponsor, Diane Vasile‑Falcone. Welcome, Maria — we’re excited to have you!
After the meeting, Paramus Rotarians prepared for the annual distribution of Rotary dictionaries to all 3rd grade students in Paramus public and private schools. The project supports literacy by giving each student a personal dictionary at the key stage when they shift from “learning to read” to “reading to learn.” As 4th graders, these students will participate in their school spelling bees, with each school’s top five spellers advancing to the Paramus Rotary Club Spelling Bee at Paramus High School.
