Jennifer Kelemen is the Social Services and Outreach Coordinator of the Adler Aphasia Center in Maywood, New Jersey. June is Aphasia Awareness Month. Aphasia is a language disorder that typically impairs all 4 areas of language. Aphasia affects a person's ability to speak, to understand spoken language, to read and write. This frustrating condition affects a person's ability to comunicate but typically does not affect his or her intellect. Aphasia occurs most often from a stroke, brain injury, brain tumor or other neurological conditions.

Applied climatologist Dr. James SHope uses knowledge of the physical sciences (such as climatology or oceanography) and environmental data/models to address how the climate system impacts human sectors. Using this lens, his research centers on the nexus of climate change and broad human impacts, primarily in New Jersey. In particular, he is interested in how agricultural production, natural resources, and public health will respond to a warming climate, heavier rainfall, and more frequent flooding.

Ms. McDonough is back!  This time she will discuss the writing of her latest book, Murder by Moonrise, an evocative, compelling mystery set in the Victorian era. Scotland Yard’s first female medical examiner, the unconventional Dr. Julia Lewis, finds her holiday sidelined by a murderer who has infiltrated the royal family’s summer retreat.

Ms. McDonough is a former educator who taught history for more than three decades. A member of the Historical Writers of America, the Mystery Writers of America, and the Historical Novel Society, she splits her time between New Jersey and the Florida Gulf Coast.
