Paramus Rotary Club Meeting of Thursday March 15, 2018 Today Paramus Rotary inducted our newest member, Gary Rosenbluth, a Specialist in Substance Abuse Counseling brought in by Mitch Saferstein! Gary was born in 1948 and he loves challenges and over coming them! During childhood he had a challenge with speaking and had to work really hard to overcome it which eventually led him to being on a radio talk show later on in life! While in college he was a ranked tennis player and even went to the US Open!!! 2 years later, however, he lost his eyesight and needed corneal transplants in order to bring his eyesight back. During the first surgery he coded for about 30 seconds but the doctors were able to revive him. His life has been full of major challenges but he has overcome each and every one of them. Today he is glad to be alive and be part of the Paramus Rotary. He wants to challenge himself with the Paramus Rotary and wants to start a committee that works with the addiction problem that our community faces on a daily basis. He is inspired but the President of Rotary in the Catskills that is his friend and has such a committee! He is extremely happy to be part of the Paramus Rotary and he is excited for what the future holds! Paramus Rotary welcomes Gary!!! Please call (201) 664-4177 to be added to the list or look for the sign up sheet during our weekly meetings. ~ Doris Spano would like to remind everyone that the next Bingo Monday at the Veteran's Home has been scheduled for April 30th so make sure you sign up! ~ Emil Geering also reminds us: District Conference Exciting destination . . . Hard Rock Casino & Resort in Punt Cana, DR! Please join us on May 3 - 6 for a joint conference with Dist. 7255 (Long Island) for the annual District Conference at a beach resort in Dominican Republic. Among the business of our district, a joint community service project is planned and there's plenty of free time at this casual resort on the beach. Emil and Jim M have brochures available and it's always fun when there are many from the club who attend.
