Paramus Rotary Club Meeting of Thursday February 25, 2021

Paramus Rotary Club Meeting of Thursday, February 25, 2021

Our guest speaker via ZOOM for the February 25, 2021, meeting was Simeon Hein, PhD.  His presentation was entitled:

Update on US Government Secret UFO Research Programs

Dr. Hein presented a brief history of the UFO phenomenon, starting with the Roswell event of 1947, to the Hudson Valley triangular UFO sightings of the early 1980s, all the way up to recent close encounters with Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) by Naval F-18 pilots off the USS Nimitz in 2004, and the USS Roosevelt in 2015. These near collisions and unexplainable sightings prompted these military pilots to call for Congressional action in the interest of aviation safety.

The presentation also covered the New York Times articles about the AATIP program (Advanced Aerial Threat Identification Program) within the Department of Defense that investigated these incidents and implications of these unknown, fast-moving objects being in close proximity to Naval training exercises. Dr. Hein mentioned several former high-level individuals from the military and intelligence community who have studied the subject and are taking the UFO issue seriously, such as Hal Puthoff, Luis Elizondo, and Chris Mellon, and are calling for Congressional briefings and an open national discussion of the topic.

Books and documentaries mentioned in the talk include:

  • "UFOs: It Has Begun” (government-funded documentary from 1977, available for free on YouTube)
  •  "The Phenomenon" by James Fox (new, detailed documentary available on all streaming services (such as Apple and Amazon)
  • Triangular UFOs (book) by David Marler
  • The Real Area 51 and Witness to Roswell (books) by Tom Carey and Don Schmitt
  • Night Siege (book) by J. Allen Hynek
  • Black Swan Ghosts (book) by Dr. Simeon Hein, available at BlackSwanGhosts.com
