This week our speaker was Albert Frater. He enlisted in the USMC in August 1963 and served until August 1967. He also served as a Corporal in the USMC Air Wing with VMFA 323 in Vietnam from Dec 1965 until November 1966. He was then a Fire Control Radar technician. After his discharge from the USMC, he was employed with IBM for 30 years in several capacities retiring as a System Engineer. Through the assistance of the GI Bill he also received his BS degree from Rutgers University.
Upon retirement he joined the Gooney Bird Detachment of the Marine Corps League in 2003. He is also a member of the VFW, America Legion, Vietnam Veterans of America, and also a volunteer on the USS Intrepid in NYC once a week!
He also informed us of the Marine Corps Ball on November 3rd that Celebrates their birthday!
