Paramus Rotary Club Meeting of Thursday, February 15, 2018  Diane Vasile-Falcone had a presentation this week about our recent Maryann Sinischalchi Valentine’s Day Brunch! Even though we were tight on space it was a HUGE SUCCESS! Along with a few others, Diane Vasile-Falcone and Dawn Feorenzo worked their hears out to make this events such a success. With over 160 baskets and 20 Grant Prize baskets everyone had something they desired to win! This event was able to raise over $15,000 for the Maryann Sinischalchi Scholarship Fund.  Many of you may remember that touching story that Diane shared but to those of you that may have missed it something really special happened for this event! As the finishing touches were being completed on the morning of, the door prizes were among the last to be finalized. The wine bottles were donated by a friend of Rotary who had no idea of Maryann nor the color scheme and theme of the event. As the bottles were being placed in tool bags and on each table Diane realized that they were covered in purple butterflies (Maryann's favorite color) and that wine was from Abruzzo Italy (Maryann's home town in Italy)! This is just more proof that our Maryann was with us sharing an awesome day with all of us! Immediately after the presentation Debbie Cibelli was inducted as our newest member with Lois Horowitz being her sponsor! Paramus Rotary would like welcome Debbie to the club and we look forward to working on all the different Rotary projects together! ANNOUNCEMENTS ~ Diane Vasile-Falcone also reminds us that Greeters are needed for our weekly meetings so make sure you sign up! ~ Kevin Behnke reminds us that the Pancake Breakfast is on March 11th 8:30 am - 12:30 pm. ~ Doris Spano would like to remind everyone the next 3 Bingo Mondays at the Veteran's Home have been scheduled for February 19th so make sure you sign up and attend this great event! ~ Lois Horowitz reminds us that Bowling Night is scheduled for March 3rd at Humdingers and a sign-up sheet will be passed around so please make sure you sign up! ~ Emil Geering also reminds us: District Conference Exciting destination . . . Hard Rock Casino & Resort in Punt Cana, DR! Please join us on May 3 - 6 for a joint conference with Dist. 7255 (Long Island) for the annual District Conference at a beach resort in Dominican Republic. Among the business of our district, a joint community service project is planned and there's plenty of free time at this casual resort on the beach. Emil and Jim M have brochures available and it's always fun when there are many from the club who attend.
