RADIAN EDITION - June 13, 2019

Hello Friends,

Just got home from the President's Ball and Governor's Banner Exchange.  Had to kick off the heels and get down to business and type the Radian!  Season's, once again, did not disappoint.  Governor Nikki passed the reigns to John Mitchell, DGE, Fort Lee Club 2019-2020.  Fun was had by all.  Click on photo album below to see just some of the pictures.  Rotarians do know how to have a good time.  Good Luck to Nikki in her future position.

Relay for Life is Friday.  You can help support by registering to walk, donate to another Rotarian or purchase a luminary bag to honor a survivor or someone who has lost their battle with cancer.  Bags are $10 and I will have them at the meeting for you to decorate.

Our transitional board meeting will be Monday, June 24 at Bacari Grill.  ALL outgoing and incoming directors are expected to attend.  All members are welcomed to join us.

Upcoming events
     June 14 - Relay 4 Life
June 21 - Cash Raffle (Tix are almost gone!)
June 28 - Installation Dinner (you must RSVP!)

Happy Father's Day to all.  I hope you enjoy your day doing exactly what you want to.

I will leave you with this quote...

I.T.N. North Jersey - Dignified Transportation for Seniors
Mary Lyons Kim & Andrea Cagney ~ Mary is the Director of Community Outreach and Andrea is a volunteer driver for this 4-year young business.  Before Uber or Lyft, this national organization based in Portland, Maine, had the same concept.  But not just driving anyone - driving SENIORS and the visually impaired!  Senior transportation to medical appointments, social events, social clubs, houses of worship just to name a few.  This is the only one of its kind in New Jersey.  It is a membership based organization.  Their clients are their members.  Seniors are able to keep their independence instead of asking the same family and friends over and over.  They must be ambulatory, no walkers or wheelchairs.  This is door-to-door service  for anyone 85 and over.  I.T.N. looks for volunteer drivers over 21 with a good driving record.  Background checks in 50 states are done for drivers.  Drivers must also call their insurance companies to let them know they will be a volunteer driver.  Drivers pick and choose what rides they want to pick up.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Mary @ 201-398-6885.  For more information, go to www.ITNNorthJersey.org
