Last week was a "Mike Kurzawski Roundtable" with 26 members present. We did not have a speaker but Lois Horowitz was kind enough to fill us in on a few events going on in the District. Read below for one of the highlights and make sure to read your District newsletter for more.
Thank you and have a great week!

NJ's MISSION OF HONOR FOR CREMAINS OF AMERICAN VETERANS
One of the topics she informed us about striked up a lot of chatter in the room. NJ's Mission of Honor for Cremains of American Veterans. Their purpose is to locate, identify and inter orphaned and abandoned cremains. This will be accomplished through the joint efforts of various Veteran Organizations. The military burial is how our nation shows gratitude and honors the men and woman who have faithfully defended our country in time of peace and war. Yet, we still have so many veterans that have been forgotten. They sit on mortuary shelves, hospital storage facilities, crematoriums and potters fields. Their remains are stored in cans or boxes with little or no identification that they are veterans. They are orphaned and abandoned by their family and remain unclaimed, sometimes for many years. The cremains will be interred at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle State Veterans' Memorial Cemetary. They have had 300 burials completed so far in 4 years time. The cost per burial is $290 and $120 for Urn/Publicity and Misc. There are over 600 still in various funeral homes unclaimed on shelves. The next interment will be in May. Donations to this project can be mailed to NJ Mission of Honor for Cremains of American Veterans at P.O. Box 149 Lodi, NJ 07644
With 100% participation from ALL of our members, this can be a very successful event. Any of the following donations will go a long way in making sure of this: Gift cards, Gift baskets, Merchandise, Services, Donations
